On Naraka chathurdasi 1835, he performed his nithya karmas and asked his disciples to sing the krithi mInAkSi mE mudam dEhi in Purvi Kalyani/Gamakakriya. As his disciples sang the line mInalOcani pAshamOcani, he raised his hands and saying "Sive Pahi" and left this materialistic world.
Yet another blissful way to remember this day.

The bread winner of the family toils for days together and save to make his family happy on this occasion. The home maker starts planning well ahead, refers N number of recipes, what sweets to prepare for this day.
